  1. 1) A leitmotif is a recurrent idea in a composition of music. An example of a famous leitmotif is the one in the movie Jaws.
    2) A theme is the basis of a piece of music. A theme can be sped up or slowed down and will appear more than once.

    2.A theme is a recognisable melody, which the piece of music is based on.

He is from America and the most famous soundtracks that he has composed are Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Harry Potter, etc. He has won many awards like - Academy Award for Best Original Music Score, AFI Life Achievement Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score.
